Shift Some Help: Service Industry For Sandy Relief
To aid New York City families in urgent need of non-perishable food items in the wake of Sandy, Shiftgig has launched an online food donation drive to help those who need it most. Join our nationwide network as we come together to provide for our industry friends in NYC!
City Harvest, the world's first food rescue organization, is working tirelessly to help meet the needs of Hurricane Sandy victims. In addition to daily deliveries to soup kitchens and food pantries across the five boroughs, City Harvest has been making ongoing emergency food drop-offs to Staten Island, Coney Island and Red Hook in Brooklyn, Breezy Point and Rockaway in Queens, and Manhattan.
Your contribution is urgently needed and will be used to support Hurricane Sandy victims. Let's make an impact together, please share this link: http://www.giving.cityharvest.org/shiftgig and donate below! To find out more about Shiftgig, please visit: http://www.Shiftgig.com.
Now serving New York City for 30 years, City Harvest is the world's first food rescue organization, dedicated to feeding the city's hungry men, women, and children.
This year, City Harvest will collect 42 million pounds of excess food from all segments of the food industry, including restaurants, grocers, corporate cafeterias, manufacturers, and farms. This food is then delivered free of charge to nearly 600 community food programs throughout New York City using a fleet of trucks and bikes as well as volunteers on foot.
